Today, Winter and I will talk about a much loved beverage of the Asian Community. It’s not Jasmine or Green Tea, Sake, or even Bubble Tea. The subject of tonight’s commentary is the dutch beer Heineken. Surprised? Well, I decided to ask my esteemed colleague Winter about the matter. Here is a rough transcription of how it went:

JWalker: “So Winter, where are you from exactly?”

Winter: “Shanghai, China.”

JWalker: “I guess that means out of all of us here, you here have the most Asian perspective on things. So what is your favorite beer and why?”

Winter:  “Heineken, cause it’s good.” (he is not much of a conversationalist)

JWalker: “Good How?”

Winter: “Very Good…”

The conversation digressed to other things such as a knockoff Audi that he saw in China. The car had 8 rings on it. Every family gathering that I have gone to has featured Heineken as a beverage of choice. I am not saying that it is everyone’s favorite but for sure, you can’t go wrong bringing Heineken to an Asian party. I will leave you with this evidence, if you are still doubtful of my opinion.

This photo was taken at a Asian Supermarket in Chamblee, GA. Notice the absurd amount of Heineken in the grocery store. I rest my case. See you guys next week.

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite Vietnamese desserts; it’s called Che Chuoi. It’s bananas, sago pearls, and mystery ingredients in a sweet coconut based cream. Usually, it is served with peanuts. Despite its strange appearance, the dessert is quite yummy! I am not sure how to describe its texture or flavor, but for certain it has a strong banana flavor and is extremely sweet. I forgot to take a picture of it again, so here is a generic internet pic of this deliciousness (next week I will make sure to take a picture):
