Synthwave, retrowave, darksynth, outrun, whatever you call the music of the retro future, we play it during DarkStar/LightBar. See you all at 6 tonight and for the next 3 Thursdays at 6 pm.

This morning’s album:

The Internet – Feel Good

Image result for the internet feel good

This was the second studio album by The Internet, released back in 2013 after their debut album in 2011, Purple Naked Ladies.

The Internet includes Syd tha Kyd and Matt Martians from Odd Future as well as a bunch of other way talented people you should look up. They’re still running in the same circles as Odd Future as well, and even did the song “Ya know” off of Odd Future’s, “The OF Tape Vol. 2”.

Since this album, Ego Death was released in 2015 and they’ve become much more prominent, even receiving a Grammy Nomination and stuff.

They also have an NPR tiny music desk on youtube, link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6j49uzPugA   but be careful cause they cuss so if you’re not into that, don’t watch.

And a KEXP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fuf3_eW85s

Catch ya next week!

Shine, shine; the light of good works shine.

The trifecta, ‘Lark’s Tongues in Aspic’‘Starless and Bible Black’, and ‘Red’ represent a distinct period in King Crimson’s musical catalogue. From quintet, (Fripp, Bruford, Wetton, Cross, Muir), to quartet (Fripp, Bruford, Wetton, Cross), and finally to trio (Fripp, Bruford, Wetton) before King Crimson ended for the first time, only to reappear in 1981.

This is a departure from the King Crimson of ‘In the Court…’. Much has changed. Come, listen; I have a tale to tell you.
